SYLLABUS AND EXAM PATTERN OF IAS : The IAS examination is one of the toughest examinations in the world. Every year 9 to 10 lakh students appear in the examination but only a few students get qualified. The Selected IAS candidates  have different kinds of  challenging roles to play such as SDM, ADC, DC, Commissioner,Secretary, Principal Secretary, Head of the Public Sector Units, Cabinet Secretary, Chief Secretary,  etc…., It is also the most unique & powerful career as IAS officers are the key policy makers and implementers of the country and various states .Their decisions affect the lives of all the people of India.

EXAM PATTERN

Phase 1:  IAS Prelims Exam (400 marks)

The Preliminary Examination consists of two papers of objective type (MCQ) carrying a maximum of 400 marks.Duration of each paper will be of two hours:

General Studies Paper – I                     (100 questions)
200 Marks
General Studies Paper – II                   (80 questions) 200 Marks

Syllabus of Prelims General Studies Paper – I (200 Marks)

 

  1. Current Affairs: Events occurring in the National as well as in the World.
  2. Indian History & National Movement of India.
  3. Geography: India & the World; Physical, Economic & Social Geography of India as well the World.
