Maharaja Ranjit Singh Armed forced preparatory Institute conduct the MRSAFPI examination for the preparation of NDA (National Defense Academy). The students (male) of class 10th are eligible to appear for this test. This test is conducted in the month of January.
Total 48 number of students get selected for the Maharaja Ranjit Singh Academy where the students study 11th and 12th in the Shemrock School, Mohali and along with this students are trained and provided coaching for NDA (National defense Academy) examination by the Academy.

The Maharaja Ranjit Singh Armed Forces Preparatory Institute has been established by the government of Punjab, India, in Sector 77 Mohali. The institute commenced training with effect from April 2011.The institute aims to train selected matriculate young boys from Punjab for permanent commission into the armed forces through the National Defence Academy. The institute is designed to train 96 boys at any one time. The training period is two years. There are two batches of 48 cadets at a time trained at the institute.
ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA:
- Candidate should be a domicile of Punjab
- Age – not more than 17 years. Stipulation of cut-off date of birth will be published in the newspaper advertisement.
- Medically fit as per NDA requirements
- Studying in 10thclass
- Desirous of joining the Armed forces through the NDA
- Only boys are eligible.
The syllabus for MRSAFPI is as follows:
Syllabus of MRSAFPI (Maharaja Ranjit Singh Armed Forces Preparatory Institute):
The entrance test will be conducted in three subjects :
- English
- Mathematics
- social studies (Geography, history, civics and Polity)
The papers will be set from the tenth class syllabus and no separate syllabus has been laid down. Candidates studying in any of the boards CBSE /ICSE / PSEB may appear in the entrance test.
The question paper is objective with MCQs. The answers are to be filled on the given OMR sheet . Wrong answers will be awarded 0.25 negative marks.
