History of Internet
Internet was developed in the 1960s by American Defence Department – Advance Research Project Agency.
At that time cold war was going on between the earstwhile USSR (Union of Soviet Socialist Republic) and USA. American top brass and intelligence felt a grave need for a fool proof medium for exchange of messages between Army. Navy and Airforce to coordinate their activities in case of hostilities or ever preparedness for war. That medium came up as Electronic Text based Internet. Whatever time is taken. For that purpose, Internet was structured in special environment, where stress was laid on independence, rather than on the security of information, because at that time this medium was useful only for defense forces.
As the time passed Internet’s popularity increased gradually. After defense forces, American Educational Institutions tagged themselves with the electronic text based medium so that students sitting at their places may derive benefits of the experiences and experiments conducted at some other place. After that, big companies joined the fun and today Internet is in every corner of the world.
