MRSAFPI INTRODUCTION: The Maharaja Ranjit Singh Armed Forces Preparatory Institute has been established by the government of Punjab in Sector 77 Mohali. The institute commenced training with effect from April 2011.The institute aims to train selected matriculate young boys from Punjab for permanent commission into the armed forces through the National Defence Academy. The institute is designed to train 96 boys at any one time. The training period is two years. There are two batches of 48 cadets at a time getting training in the institute

MRS AFPI Previous Year Question Paper 2016 ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA:

• Candidate should be a domicile of Punjab
• Age – not more than 17 years. Stipulation of cut-off date of birth will be published in the newspaper advertisement.
• Medically fit as per NDA requirements
• Studying in 10^thclass
• Desirous of joining the Armed forces through the NDA
• Only boys are eligible.

SYLLABUS & EXAM PATTERN OF Maharaja Ranjit Singh

SYLLABUS & EXAM PATTERN OF MRSAFPI  – The entrance test will be of Objective multiple choice  type (400 marks) having 100 questions. it will be conducted in two subjects – English(40%) and Mathematics(60%). The papers will be set from the tenth class syllabus and no separate syllabus has been laid down. Candidates studying in any of the boards i.e. CBSE /ICSE / PSEB may appear in the entrance test. The question paper is objective with MCQs. The answers are to be filled on the given OMR sheet. The correct answers will be awarded 4 marks each. The wrong answers will be awarded 1 negative mark . The duration of the paper will be of 2 hours. Sample question papers are available on the website.

The Test consists of 2 sections:

1. English
2. Mathematics

The detailed Exam Pattern is as follows:

Note : Each right answer will carry FOUR marks and wrong answer minus ONE mark.

Interviews of candidates will be conducted after the declaration of the result of the written exam . In scheduling the dates of the interview we shall try and ensure that there is no clash with your Class 10 exam schedule. Interviews will be conducted in the Institute in Mohali. The interviews will be conducted by a team of trained officers. The team will consist of some or all of the following:-

• GTO
• interviewing officer
• Psychologist
• Director AFPI

The interview will basically comprise of a few elementary tests of intelligence and aptitude. There will be a Picture Perception & Description Test followed by a group discussion. Thereafter the candidate will appear individually before the interview board. The aim of the interview is to assess the candidate’s level of motivation, intelligence, aptitude, confidence, personality and expression. His manner of interaction in a group will also be important.

Names    of    candidates    called    for    interview    will    be    available    on http://afpipunjab.org & http://recruitment-portal.in.  The date shall be  announced separately on the C-DAC website.

Candidates will not be informed individually about the result and interview schedule.
